    1. Thank you so much, K. A.! I was thinking about taking a break from everything electronic due to the incredibly busy summer that I’m dealing with– But I finally had some time to sit down and work on some new stuff to share today & I’ve decided to postpone the break [For at least a couple of months]. Thanks for the comment and continued support and keep up the great work over there!

    1. Hi Juliette! Thank you very much for the great comment, glad these were able to stimulate the imagination! Thank you for the continued support, I really do appreciate it! Hope all is well over there, take care!

    1. Thank you very much! Ha-ha, well, a magician never reveals how he does a trick– But I never use just one program or just one app, as far as that goes. I have over a dozen different programs / apps at my disposal. I might like a couple features on one, a couple on the next, etc. And then, every so often, I will just leave a photo completely alone, the way it is [And, on a more serious note, the majority of what I publish here for free is digital art / photography, mainly due to overall time constraints, but away from the internet I actually produce a good amount of writing, drawings, paintings, canvas, etc. that are not shared for free]. Anyway, thanks for the comment and keep up the great work over there!

      1. Well, I have shared a few over the years [And some have been incorporated into stories and posts here and there]… I’m sure that I’ll share some more in the future– Oh, and there was the post a few months ago where I offered some original ink drawings for sale here that were part of an art show with nearly fifty framed pieces [Which was the one and only time I have done that here] and actually sold a few more of them!

      2. Not “exactly” the answer to my question but congratulations on the sale, it’s always a great feeling!

    1. Thanks! Yes, I am already sick of the hot, humid days here– It has been quite miserable! About half of these shots were actually captured during an afternoon when a thunderstorm was rolling though. Thanks for the comment and have a great one over there!

      1. my comment came from a strong perception of winter in some of these pieces, maybe you subconsciously evoked this as it seems your summer heat has lost its appeal. Whatever the climate, amazing work J.E.

  1. They make me think of prints, as if the details were first etched on a copper plate. They have an air of “old” but with modern motives. I love that mix, they are amazing!

    1. Thank you so much for the comment and the kind words, I really appreciate it! Yes, this set started off as something that was supposed to be fairly simple and straightforward, but, like I typically do, I started adding and changing things, continued working on them for a few evenings, etc. Eventually I just decided they were finished and quickly shared them before I could be pulled back into more work! Anyway, have a wonderful day over there!

    1. Hi J. H.– Thank you very much! Yes, I see what you mean– That wasn’t consciously intentional, but I can certainly see what you mean. Ironically, I do in fact have a few old photos that have been in my wallet for years, quite tattered around the edges. Perhaps some day I’ll scan them and incorporate them into something! Hope all is well over there, take care!

  2. Excellent – very striking compositions with an intriguing emotional & metaphorical atmosphere . 🙂

    1. Thank you very much! If you feel that the set has an ’emotional and metaphorical atmosphere” then I have done something right and I feel good about that! Thanks for the great comment– Keep up the great work over there and enjoy the rest of the week! 🙂

    1. Thank you very much, I really appreciate the kind words! *I just realized that you have more than one site going over there!* Keep up the great work and enjoy the rest of the week! 🙂

  3. Hello there! I’m glad you had some time and were able to post these! The texture is amazing — in looking at the comments I saw that others noticed it too — something both frosty and chiseled – I can’t find the words to place it, but the textures are amazing. The first two and the last one were my favorites. Just wonderful!

    1. Thanks! Yes, it had been a few days so I finally just stayed up late and made time to finish this set– Glad you enjoyed it so much! Somehow I’m never able to accurately predict which ones are going to be popular and which one’s will not be as popular [And I tend to judge that by the comments and hits, not by ‘likes.’]– But I’m certainly not complaining, it’s always a pleasant surprise! The ones you mentioned are some of my favorites as well, and I’m quite fond of the way the large dark cloud turned out in the third down. Anyway, thanks for the comment, take care! 🙂

      1. No, you never know, do you? I’ve had poems that were *awesome* (in my own mind!) and they hardly had any likes or comments at all. And some should have bombed and people loved them. So … who knows?!?

All the best to you –
        You take care, also 🙂

    1. Hi Steven– Thank you very much! This was one of those fun sets that just kind of came out of nowhere. I have learned over the years that whenever something like that starts to happen [Whether with writing, art or photos] to just go with it. Hope all is going well over there, take care!

    1. Thank you very much, MJ– Glad you enjoyed this set so much! Oh, and I have been meaning to message you– I was thinking about sharing our collaboration here in the near future, if that would be okay with you, of course! At that time I was juggling four sites at once and helping someone with another one– It all became too much to handle and the decision was made to close everything except for fictional machines. But there are a few things from the other sites that I would like to bring back here, and that collaboration is definitely one of them! Have a wonderful day over there, take care!

  4. Of course. I would love you to bring it over to your new blog. I had enjoyed that piece of work, and if you like, and are good with it, I would love to collaborate again.

I understand you must have been juggling a lot of work, and how it got too much.

I love your work – you never seem to be at a loss for new perspectives, new styles, a fresh eye…. just that, I have an 8-month old job in content strategy and it is the typical American company… a lot of slog, and no time for my loves… so I don;t manage to get around to visiting my favorite blogs.

But I’m getting hold of my time and trying to create a balance now, so you will see my footprints in your blog more often.

    Take care – stay happy!
