746 Days

746 days 1

Seven hundred forty-six days have passed since I created Fictional Machines dot com and started sharing various forms of creativity on the internet.  I had no idea at that time that I would have nearly two thousand subscribers after two years of work–  And I truly apologize for the lack of activity here the last few weeks!

After creating and sharing the first few installments of the new ‘Mysteries of the Wasteland’ series I was contacted by a group that was curious as to where the story was going & they wanted to know if I was interested in publishing something like this down the road rather that just sharing it for free on the web.  Although this was great news it abruptly shattered my plans for the foreseeable future and, unfortunately, caused yet another tale to be abandoned [For now] on this website [?!].

So here is the new plan–  No more attempts will be made to share long, ongoing stories here until they are available in print.  I have decided that I will start posting something here every single day for as long as I can sustain such activity–  But each post will be self contained.  Some will have writing incorporated, some will not. One day it might be a short story, the next it could be an ink drawing or a new painting, or a single photograph, etc.

I am going to spend the spring / summer transforming Fictional Machines into a more conventional blog of sorts while continuing work on the next round of art shows, the various book projects and all of the other stuff that occupies my time [Like the possibility of hosting a radio show and maybe even shooting a film in the near future].

Anyway, I have returned.  I hope everyone is doing well out there and thank you for all of the support!

    1. Thanks, Juliette! The ‘Progression’ story you mentioned above should be in print this year, but, alas, the Charlotte character in the original version was played by my traitorous ex-wife, so those panels have all been renovated with a stunning actress I have hired to play the character. The story has been expanded a great deal, with more characters [And even some villain characters]– But more on that later! Hope your year is off to a great start over there, take care!

  1. Congratulations …you will be so successful!
    Take care…You Matter…

    1. Thank you very much for the kind words, Mary Rose! This is shaping up to be the busiest year of my life, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! You matter too– Have a wonderful week! –Josh

    1. Yes, the last few years have had many ups and downs, but I have just tried my best to keep working and creating through it all [And have learned to cope with various phases of exhaustion along the way]! Thanks for the comment and enjoy the day!

    1. Thanks, Anita! Yes, it’s exciting and overwhelming at the same time– I am actually trying to finish / publish a few different things while working on art shows and a few other projects that are still [mostly] top secret. Hope everything is going well over there, have a great week!

  2. You are soooooooo creative…. you deserve to make a ton of money… but more importantly to have much happiness with your endeavors…

    1. Thank you very much for the kind words– I really appreciate that! Well, money and happiness are both things that seem come and go during my time on this planet– It always seems to be either ‘feast or famine,’ back and forth. I just try to keep working / creating through it all. All the best to you over there as well– Take care!

  3. Kudoz, JE–well done. That’s the dream (a version) and I am proud and pleased for you, a dedicated artist. Also–I am glad you stopped in; as Karin above noted, I too, thought of you today, and meant to swing by, but then I had a case of CRS (bad CRS) and…hahaha. anyway. You go wicher bad self!!

    1. Thank you very much! It is still a work in progress, and the further I delve into the story and the images the more it changes and evolves– But that is part of what makes it exciting and unpredictable! Hope your doing better now, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! Have a great rest of the week, take care! 🙂

    1. Thank you very much, my friend– I wish you the best over there as well! So much has changed and evolved with this project and a few others since I posted this– I might just simply self publish the first few after all because I stubbornly refuse to compromise / censor anything and corporations big and small have the fear within them when it comes to anything and everything deemed as being even mildly controversial! We will see how it all turns out, too soon to tell, but either way I am going to attempt to have a finished product available by early winter! Have a great rest of the week, take care!
