This must be some sort of dream. Charlotte thought.
She had entered the condo and found her dead husband sitting on the couch. But he appeared to be alive and well, calmly staring at her. Tears of joy were welling up in her eyes as she placed her hands over her mouth in shock and disbelief.
Is this really happening?
A dizzy, whirling sensation followed, and her vision started to dim. She saw Jack standing up from the couch and rushing toward her as everything turned black.

Jack watched the love of his life walk in through the front door and looked up from the journal.
What should I say? He thought. “Oh- Hey, baby. It’s just me- I’m actually a different version of Jack, from a different reality, but you’re going to think I have returned from the grave. So… what’s new?”

Her eyes suddenly rolled up into her head and Jack realized that she was fainting. He was sprinting from the couch as Charlotte crumpled to the floor.

“Charlotte? Are you okay?” Jack said.
He crouched down and attempted to wake her. When that did not work he placed one hand beneath her legs and slid the other one under her back. He picked her up and carried her into the bedroom. He gently placed her upon the bed.
“I didn’t want our reunion to go like this.” Jack whispered.
What has her life been like the last two years? He wondered. Does she know who killed me? He reached out and caressed the side of her face.
